Let’s face it, the world feels like a scary place at the moment. The news is dominated by war, the possibility of escalation and much more. It’s easy to feel helpless.
I once sat with my 91 year old Grandad who was a quiet, gentle man. I remember that something was troubling me on the world stage and I asked him what he had done over the years when things seemed beyond his control. He paused for a moment and said “I look for the good people son, they’re never far away.”
Since then, in times of uncertainty I have held on to this one line. Whether it’s a compassionate young nurse caring for my mom in hospital, an elderly man who braves the weather to collect donations for a local charity, or the Red Cross on the ground risking their own lives in war torn areas - if we look just past the pain and the suffering, the good people are never far away.
My Best Wishes, Ian Tucker.
